Since June 2007, we have had many successful dog & cat recoveries. View their stories below.

Marco rescued with a fracture pelvis

Lost... But Now I'm Found!

Rescued in May 2008 in Charlotte. Marco darted out of the car the moment her arrived at his new home after spending a year in a rescue. By canvasing and use of a search and rescue dog we were alerted to Marco's location and was found with a fractured pelvis and treated by the owner's vet.

Rescue now works as service dog for hearing impared woman.

A Second Chance!

Rescued in March 2008 from a Wilco Gas Station. By May 2008 we paired the dog named Chance with hearing impared woman from Gastonia.

Chance is now working as a service dog and even attends church services with her new owner/trainer.

Concord, NC Family

Cats in our Crawlspace!

A Concord, NC family contacted Missing Pet Recovery Services to help rescue a cat that had a litter of kittens in the crawlspace of their home. We provided the traps and demonstarted how to trap, bait, release and reset the traps. Mother and the litter of four kittens were all caught in 3 nights and were kept together and sent to a local no-kill shelter.

Coccoa was found trapped by his chain in a briar patch for 5 days in 90 degree heat

We were contacted by the Nickel's Group, a local Concord, NC business, they stated they heard a dog crying nearby for about a week. Animal Control was called but they refused to enter the briar patch but did offer to leave the business owners a trap. They refused the trap and MPRS was contacted. Within one hour we located a very weak dehydrated and hungry Staffordshire Bull Terrier, named Coccoa. She was found trapped by an embedded chain around her neck in a thick briar patch for at least 5 days in over 90 degree heat. The dog's owner was located but later abandoned the dog at the vets. Coccoa was obviously abused and neglected and is now living at a local no-kill shelter undergoing heartworm treatment.

Harley abandoned on I-85 in NC
Little Bear abandoned on I-85 in NC
Wander abandoned on I-85 in NC

So whose your daddy?!?

These three adorable 8 week old puppies were found abandoned on I-85 in Gastonia, NC near a truck weigh station one evening. Although they don't look related they came from the same litter, which begs the question, "Whose your daddy?!?"

We are happy to report MPRS has adopted the I-85 puppies, provided medical care including vaccinations, neutering/spaying and is training the trio. Understandably, the pups were initially frightened of motor vehicles but these days they love to ride anywhere in a car or truck.

The male, (see top left) we named Harley. He was the only pup spotted on the highway that day. When we approached him to keep him from being struck by a car or truck, he led us to 2 other female pups he had tucked away down in a ravine on the other side of the guardrail.

The smallest female (see middle left) we named Little Bear. She is the more timid of the three pups.

This little girl was adopted and has grown up to look like a minature German Shepherd Dog and hold her own with 2 other purebred GSDs. (see bottom left)
